What are CEP's Capabilities for receiving orders/requests via the internet?

CEP has incorporated an online client services section into our website. From there, clients can request a quotation, place an order, or check the status of an existing job.

When sending orders/requests over the Internet, we request that you inform us when a transmission has been made, thus eliminating the possibility of any production delays. CEP also offers customized on-line ordering via our website for clients requesting this service. To learn more about this service and to gain access to an order entry program custom made to fit your needs, please call your account manager or CEP at 336.956.6327 or 800.222.3869.

What processes are in place at CEP for file management?

All electronic files received by CEP for production are transferred to our centralized server in a consistent file format. Production then works from these files beginning with the prepress department. While active in prepress, all files reside in the prepress production area. Keeping all elements of the project together throughout the entire process is an organizational discipline, and assures that items will not be separated or misplaced. While our server is accessible from all production computers, our software only allows one copy of a job to be opened by one user at a time, eliminating the possibility of multiple copies being created. Upon completion of the job, all data is cataloged into a cumulus database. This allows for increased efficiency in retrieving old files for use in subsequent projects. All components of the job are then archived for permanent storage. After a job is complete, all films, layouts, proofs, approved press sheets, and samples are stored together in a folder, which is then filed. A database stores the records of each job and also records any cross-referencing necessary as jobs are revised and re-numbered to reflect "repeat", or "repeat with change" orders.

Does CEP have a system for providing schedules for prepress, printing and delivery?

Yes, CEP tracks all jobs using our job management system. The system is an integrated master database operating through our networked computers, and is available from all workstations throughout the plant. The exact location and status of each job is available with this system.
Daily production and job schedules are prepared using the system for each department manager as well as all customer service representatives. These daily schedules are used by our staff to ensure that jobs move through the manufacturing process in a timely fashion, and are ultimately delivered to our clients on time.
CEP also offers on-line job status request form via our web site. Visit Online Client Services and use the Job Status Request Form to submit requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (Clients will be contacted as soon as possible during regular business hours.)

How does CEP define Client Service?

We consider our clients and their successful performance as the reason for justification of our existence. We work hard to gain an understanding of the challenges our clients face in an attempt to provide solutions that will allow them to perform at optimum levels.

At CEP, client service is viewed as:

  • Listening
  • An organizational attitude, not a position
  • A comprehensive understanding of our client's business and our role in assisting them in achieving their goals - this means different things for each of our clients, and ultimately different situations.
  • Understanding and confirming what the client expects - and needs - while recognizing that expectations and needs are different for each client.
  • Being available when we are needed - during lunch, after business hours, during weekends and holidays - basically, whenever we are needed.
  • Giving clients our full attention, which includes follow-up
  • Orchestrating and managing internal and external resources
  • The discipline of constantly gathering and documenting our performance
  • Integrity

What measures are in place to ensure the security of work done at CEP?

Clients and visitors are not allowed on the production floor unescorted. Entrances to office and production areas are posted and monitored, and the front entrance is attended during normal business hours. CEP requires its employees to sign a confidentiality agreement upon receipt and review of the CEP Employee handbook. The handbook contains the following confidentiality statement that each employee must agree to uphold:

  • Never remove printed materials or client files of any kind from CEP without written permission.
  • Client sensitive issues should not be disclosed to any third-party other than employees, agents, or vendors who have a need to know the confidential information for the purpose of serving the client.
