CEP Hall Fine Art Company History
CEP Hall Fine Art is the continuation of a commercial printing company founded in 1919 by Reverend W. A. Barber. He and his boyhood friend, W. B. Hall opened Barber-Hall Printing Company in January, 1920. After Reverend Barber decided to return to the ministry full time he sold his share of the company to Mr. Hall and it became Hall Printing Company in 1940. In 1967 Mr. Hall’s son W. B. Hall, Jr. became active in the company and assumed leadership at his father’s death.

From its conception, Hall Printing Company specialized mainly in furnishings and textile printing. However, in 1971 the company produced its first limited edition art reproduction for Lexington artist, Bob Timberlake. Thus began the current specialization of fine art reproduction printing. After W. B. Hall, Jr.’s death in 1995 the company was passed on to sons, Tom and Doug Hall. The two managed Hall Printing Company until it was purchased by Carolina Envelope & Printing, Inc. in a partnership venture in December 1999 and later as sole owner in January, 2003. It was the company’s good fortune to retain the two Hall brothers, who together possess a vast wealth of knowledge in the fine art industry.

Today CEP Hall Fine Art is a premiere, full-service fine art lithographer and giclee printer.
